New Lady member recommends Darlington Cycling Club

I'm a 59 year old, recently retired woman and I joined Darlington Cycle Club earlier this year as I’m fairly new to cycling and I wanted to have the opportunity to ride in a group and to improve my cycling knowledge and fitness. I haven’t been disappointed.

My initial trepidation regarding whether I’d fit in and keep up with what I perceived to be a predominantly male group was totally unfounded. For a start, there are a fair number of lady cyclists in the club and I have been welcomed and encouraged by everyone who I’ve met; both male and female. The rides are varied and sociable and there is absolutely something to suit every standard of rider.

I have learnt a lot in a relatively short time with DCC and would encourage anyone to get in touch with Mike, our Chairman, and come for a ride out to experience the welcome and support.
