The following is a text update from Gary Lamont - Hi mike we had great trip to carlisle it was great that the club could support us on our 75 miles when we left Darlington. We are now in glasgow 73m off to fort william in morning 107 we may relay let you know how it goes... Thanks

Gary also mentioned that they stayed in Carlisle castle and had it all to themselves, which was quite an experience.

From the clubs perspective, we all think they are fantastic doing what they are doing and a lot of us are quite envious. I don’t think some of the younger members really appreciate what they will have achieved at such a young age, it may be in later years that it fully sinks in. Could anybody who knows them, really have thought a year ago, that after approx 70 miles per day (and it’s day after day) that they could be contemplating the 107 miles to Fort William. Just amazing.

Saturday 27th June:
Nearly there! Stayed in Dingwall just outside Inverness last night after the ride from Fort William. The route took us along Loch Ness, no monsters spotted! Towards the end we decided to take a small "B" road (maybe it was a "D" road!); it turned out to have some vicious climbs, but we were rewarded by fantastic views, and the highest climb so far. Unfortunately it added time to the ride, so it was 7:30pm before we got to the digs.

Everyone is in great spirits and looking forward to completing this epic.

Today is a mere 50 miles to Helmsdale, but it's blowing a gale - the wrong way - so it's going to be a hard effort before we can settle into the final leg tomorrow.

Tuesday morning we'll be riding back into the school at 11:00am from the Mowden Pub car park if anyone wants to join us!

2:30pm - they're there!
Well done everyone - a fantastic ride which puts a lot of us "cyclists" in our place!
Gary, next week it's the Council 70 mile ride. (route to be decided!) Any takers?

Might be time to change the title to 2010, as we have a 4 person team doing it this year.

Perhaps some of those doing it can give us an update on how the training is going, come on John, you've made that big step and bought a computer, what about registering and adding some comment.
