The 100 mile "Hell of the North" Ride, Sunday 5th September The classic ride of the year, the Hell of the North continues to prove extremely popular, attracting close to 200 cyclists in 2007. Severe weather prevented the official ride taking place in 2008. A picturesque route, the ride goes through some of the most spectacular scenery in the region, but is a tough test and only for experienced cyclists. Check in and lunch stop is in Kirkby Stephen.

Entry fees: in advance £4.50 with t shirt, £2.50 standard entry. On the day £6.00 with t shirt, £2.50 standard entry. Start: Dolphin Centre, register between 8.30am - 9.30am.

This is a challenging ride for experienced cyclists. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

A group from Darlington CC will be leaving at 8:30am for a 'steady' ride, a faster group will be leaving at 9:00am.

THE BEAST Sunday 5th September 2010 A very challenging 50 mile route through beautiful County Durham scenery, the route being mostly on road. This ride is only for the competent, experienced and capable cyclist. Starts at 9:00am from Sniperley Park & Ride, Durham Entry prices - Adult £17, call 0191 383 3042 for details of group discounts. Durham Big Rides Sunday 12th September 2010 The event now in its 4th year will again comprise of three routes to cater for all abilities (3 miles, 10 miles & 25 miles) and there will be on site entertainment for all to enjoy. Events will take place on closed roads and cycle tracks. Starts from 9:00am from County Hall, Durham Entry prices - Under 16's £5, Adult £17, Family (2+2) £40, call 0191 383 3042 for details of group discounts. Sunday 12th September, Durham and Northumberland 100km and 200km. Promoted by Houghton Cycling Club. Both rides start and finish at the clubrooms in Newbottle, Houghton le Spring. The 200 takes in Blanchand, Bellingham and Elsdon, with the 100k covering half of the same route. Free food is provided at the finish. 200km Entry Form , 100km Entry Form
